Former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos can now sail aboard the New Shepard
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Monday approved Blue Origin’s license to transport people on the New Shepard space system.
Former Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos is set to take part in Blue Origin’s maiden flight next week. The agency has confirmed that Blue Origin has the right to transport people as long as its FAA license is valid through the end of August and allows the use of Launch Site One in Texas for these missions.
Blue Origin was required to confirm that the hardware and software of its launch vehicle was operating safely during a test flight, and the FAA confirmed that it was in compliance with regulatory requirements.
